The NHS board members and I are extremely proud to announce our community event for the year- “The Legacy 5k”. We are partnering with the Atlanta Chapter of the America Heart Association and the Broome Family to make a difference for heart attack research.

  The Legacy 5k will take place starting at the Milton High School Stadium on Saturday, November 12th at 9:00 am. This 5k is dedicated in honor of Coach Broome.

  As many of you know, Coach Broome unexpectedly passed this summer due to a heart attack. Coach Broome was a keystone in the Milton community, as he was a soccer coach for both Milton High School and UFA, and a football coach. In addition, he worked in the special-ed department at Milton High School. He did so many other things, touching the lives of every student and player in his life.

  All the proceeds of the 5k will be donated to the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association funds millions of dollars each year to heart attack research and this event will help support their funding.

​

  Throughout the rest of the semester until November 13, every NHS member will contribute to the community event, the Legacy 5k, in at least two ways. These opportunities will be available in Mobile Serve and discussed at our next meeting.

  I look forward to working with each and every NHS member to make this 5k a huge impact on not only our community but on heart attack research!
